Zoho Lens

Zoho Lens is a software that you can access through your browser or install as an app on your phone or tablet. For a good overview of what needs to be serviced or repaired, Zoho Lens uses the camera of a smartphone, tablet or smart glasses to take live footage that can then be viewed by, for example, the technical support team at the other end. They can then issue instructions via the app's built-in voice or text chat. The comment function is particularly helpful here, as it allows filmed objects to be marked and annotated.

Augmented reality (AR for short) is a Technology that can be used to link images of the real world (video recordings or photos) with information. As far as Zoho Lens is concerned, it looks a little something like this.... The piece of technical equipment that needs to be serviced or repaired is filmed and annotations and markers are placed directly in this film in real time (i.e., while the filming continues live).

Through AR (augmented reality), it is much easier to solve maintenance work or technical problems than it would be if the communication was limited to phone calls or written correspondence. After all, these video recordings provide a realistic visual impression. What's more, questions and instructions can be integrated directly into the recording. This eliminates the need for many on-site appointments, and inquiries can be processed faster and more cost-effectively.
